Adding videos to your WordPress or blog website is a fantastic way to improve readers, make your readers stay involved with your content and offer different platforms that you can use to connect with your fans. On dark days past it was a real pain in the ass to embed a video on the website however, fortunately, it was very easy.
There are two ways that can be done easily and both utilize several free 3nd party services that you have heard. Using sites like YouTube, Vimeo, Google Video and others not only make video embedding to posts or super easy WordPress pages but also walking far to make your video look more.
So, as practice leads to youtube and choosing any video that has the "pin" button at the bottom right. The easiest way to post videos to your WordPress blog is the following and functions on WordPress version 2.9 and higher.
1) Copy the video URL.
2) Go to your post editor on WordPress and paste the URL to the content area when under the visual display (rather than HTML display). Visual / HTML toggle is on the top right area of the new posts. Make sure the URL is in its own line and it's not linked. If it is shown as a link that can be clicked in the content area after you attach it to a highlight of the URL and click the "Break Link" button (looks like a broken chain).
3) Really, only that. When you look at posts as a preview or publish video posts will appear on the full functioning content and ready to go. Doesn't be much easier than that, right?
The second method for posting videos to a page or WordPress post involves getting what is known as Embed Code. Most of the 3rd free 3 party sites have little footage of the code that you can copy and paste it to your WordPress post. When using an eunm code make sure you are in the HTML view of the content area. Copy all code snippets and attach it to the post HTML. That's pretty much.
There are also options to use video or media keys at the top of the content section of the new plus section. I'm not sure why but I have some difficult luck using that feature.
When using a full embed code, you will have more flexibility as far as form, size, and display of the video produced. After you get more comfortable using videos on WordPress you might want to play a little with settings in this code.
